I have not had a visual inspection conducted and they can’t be measured electronically from my understanding. There is no slipping, the pedal feels just fine and my mechanic tested the car for any issues he could see, hear or feel when it arrived with me. He and I agreed that the clutch felt just fine.

From the service invoice history it appears that at some point:

  1. The front subframe had some damage
  2. The left rear rim was buckled, causing vibration
  3. The left hand rear wing was painted
Can you confirm that:

  1. the front sub frame damage has been repaired
  2. the repairs to the rim are not visible and the vibration has been solved
  3. the paint repair has been performed professionally and is not visible
Furthermore it appears that the car has been in your ownership for less than a year and has not been driven much. What is the reason for that?

The service records show the wheel was refurbed and confirmed that neither the wheel nor driveline were the cause of any noises etc. I have not seen any evidence of a buckle repair on the rim. They thought the noise was Tyre related at the time.

There is currently a slight rumble most noticeable around 70mph at the rear that was diagnosed to me as flat spots in the tyres, I believe that was mentioned in the write up and I would encourage the next owner to replace the tyres with their choice of new rubber.

The paint repair you mention, circa £380+ VAT from Aston Heritage Center. As you would expect from them the repair must have been small and well done. I cannot identify any evidence of the repair, the photos should confirm that.

The mention in 2013 of minor subframe damage must be extremely minimal. It wasn’t pointed out to me on inspection when the car went into the mechanic.

I would also suggest that car was seen the following year at Heritage Aston, who checked all front suspension tracking etc and all was well with no mention of any damage.

In regards to my ownership, I have a non GT DB7 Vantage Manual with 45k miles that I drive regularly. The plan was to sell that and keep the GT, but that never transpired and the GT is now a garage queen. I got frustrated taking it out to get the recent MOT done when I drove through a light rain shower!

So the collectable DB7 GT is being sold, and the lesser car is being driven for now without caring too much if the odd stone chip or downpour occur.

I hope that helps both yourself and anyone else with similar questions.
