Apologies if this is teaching you to suck eggs, but Alpinas of that era return all sorts from the reg plate, mine used to return either an X5 or a 7 series depending on whose system was the back end of the parts finder web site. You need the Alpina chassis number visible here https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/auction/20843530. Again, apologies if you already know this.
