This group deal through Demon Tweeks has now been finalised by a fellow petrol head from evo.co.uk , details as below:- "I’m pleased to announce that the Geodesy speed-camera location device will be available for £330.00 inclusive of VAT and delivery. This is fifty pounds off the list price of £380.00 . The company willing to supply at the above price is Demon Tweeks, telephone number 01978 663068. Your order must however go through Neil Pridding, otherwise you will pay the list price!! Contact him by email if you wish: NeilP@demon-tweeks.co.uk There are currently approx. 10 units in stock with more on their way. There is no deadline as previously suggested. However, please note that because of the tight margins at this price, only once ten orders have been received will the units start being released at the above price. Once released the units are on overnight delivery. This offer is not limited to members of the evo forum so let your friends/enemies/family know about it so we can all beat the Government at its own game. I hope the price is satisfactory, and I thank you for your patience. Cheers, Merlin. NB. I am in no way affiliated with the above company and take no responsibility for your order." As if you needed an excuse anyway!! Alex

Yep! Got mine yesterday, went out on a brief test run last night looking for cameras. This really is a superb piece of kit - lots of advance notice and spot on accurate.

not sure if they can positively identify that you are using a diffuser, they can suspect you because they don't get a reading, but they might not get a reading cos they missed etc. Saw some company in the states is doing built in diffusers (into the front lights) for some cars. That would be cool - cops can't see anything on your dashboard to get confiscated... Not sure if they're legal or not still though...

They won't say for sure but the implication is a number of sources including some Police forces who give them advance notice of intended camera sites, apparently they are also involved with the new home office guide lines about painting them bright colours etc and may well be given the location details as part of the deal !

The locations get updated by owners hitting a button when they pass a camera that the Geodesy didn't warn them about. See http://www.pistonheads.com/speed/geodesy.htm

Ted, Very few actually come from users it seems to be more of a sales pitch or incentive for the £50, the quote they gave me was that they get swamped with users pressing the button for Traffic Masters / CCTV / Red light cameras etc etc (even cats eyes if some people are to be believed) and that the actual user data is the least reliable of their sources.
