Which printer?

I bought a Canon, £35 for the printer, over 1000 dpi and replacement cartridges are £1 - £4 from ebuyer
We also have a Dell, £10 for the printer with 2 ink carts, replacement carts are £40ish, so will get rid once the ink dies. I know its an environmental waste, but I refuse to spend £40 on carts...

I have an Epson R300, which gives great photo output.
There are loads of R220s, which is the newer model (but without card reader), on ebay for very reasonable prices
Cheap cartridges too - I have found that Ridisc are the best compatibles IF you can find them - 5.99 for a SET of SIX !!!
People may warn you off of Epsons because of clogging issues, this can be an issue but in my experience the later Epsons are much better in this respect. My R300 has never clogged in over two years of ownership (my Epson 1290 however clogs for a pastime - 5 years old though).
