Right first off the 964 is nearly finished, I just desperately need an O/S rear bumper section, (the one with the exhaust hole) anyone got one? Also needed an O/s Sill cover.

Not bothered about colour just need to be in fair condition, I'm desperate please help!!!

Also looking for a bit of advice.

I'm seriously considering buying a GT3, I haven't driven one, although I have driven my dads 996 quite a lot, however I believe the engine is nothing like? Whats the difference between Mark 1 and 2? Also I'll be hunting one out with highish mileage and left hand drive to keep cost down, as well as doing high mileage in it, any advice on pitfalls, eg engine life etc? Do they suffer from any problems such as RMS? basically I need someone who actually has one to give me a bit of help!

Thanks!

try Essential Styling in Hemel Hempstead for the bumper parts...they do left and right hand side variations; that's if you want to go down the twin exhaust route?

GT3 engine is based on the GT1 Le Mans winner; which I think itself was based on the 993GT2 block & gearbox. It's therefore not directly related to the normal 996 lump! Haven't heard of RMS failures on GT3's...

I dont really want new fibreglass parts tbh, I'm just after used original parts, not after chavving the car up just replacing 2 damaged panels while I'm respraying her.

Ok...another direction then is Van Zweeden in Holland (v-zweeden.com), they have huge stocks of 'original' Porsche parts. There was a write up a while back in Porsche World magazine!

GT3 Mk 1 and Mk 2, newer car has bigger front brakes and 6 rather than 4 pot calipers, a sh*t looking rear spoiler, gearbox oil cooler, stronger synchros, slightly wider tyres, slightly higher ride height and an engine with about 25 bhp more. It's also marginally quicker than the earlier car. Engines on both sound fantastic and Mk2 has a higher rev limit. Benefit of left hooker is slightly bigger fuel tank - about 30 litres I seem to recall. Both models are pretty bullet proof, although some MK1's had issues with worn synchro's, usually fixed under warranty. Wheels on MK1's corrode like bugg*ry and need constant refurbing or anodising. OPC extended warranty is a must. Do not buy a car with the PCCB ceramics if you intend to go near a track, the PCCB's will just fall apart leaving you with a big bill for replacements.

Nice red MK1 for sale in classifieds at the moment(in Edinburgh)

stay away from the silly GT 3; i am selling (after 3 years and ~40Tkm) and am happy with a beautiful 993 supercup. the only real thrill in the GT 3 was the time on the autobahn, i've never driven a faster car. on trackdays you will notice the high weight of the car. considering the prices still asked for the GT3s you will probably loose quite an amount as time goes by. stick to your 964 and keep enjoying a 'real' Porsche.
