I may be slow off the mark here but the front page of Motorsport News (26 Feb) is carrying a story that says TVR will be running a couple of DeWalt sponsored cars at Sebring and LeMans as well as a couple of 1000kms races and maybe an early round of the British GT Championship. They have a picture of the car testing at Snetty and it looks the mutts doo-dahs!!

They also have Hugh Chamberlain on board as well. The only sad part is the Morgan GTR is up for sale.

The car to be used is a brand new T440R. The engine is indeed a race spec SP6. The car will be racing at Sebring in America, March 12-15 with support from the factory. Pictures of the Snetterton testing can be found at www.dailysportscar.net

Hope this clarifies the matter for you.

Still not had any official word on the project existing, let alone any detail.

Bloody hell Ted. It was a half page article in Autosport dated Feb 6th that prompted me to start this thread...
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=23&h=0&t=28700

Racesport Salisbury are running the team and I think you will find that only drivers who have previous TVR history will be racing the cars. Hugh Chamberlain will help run the team and Mr Barff will probably be one of the drivers. There will be two cars, not one.

I've quoted that directly from Autosport. So, in short it's happening.

TVR will be at Le Mans and this year I will actually watch some of the race instead of spending all weekend pissed!! Well, I'll still be pissed but instead of not giving a toss which Audi wins I can actually cheer Bentley and TVR while slurping my Lager!!!

I'm not saying I didn't know about it, I'm just saying that considering it's such big news you'd think there would have been some people keen to revel in it, rather for it to leak out in dribs and drabs.

Well, there you go Ted, the TVR PR department strikes again!
Maybe, by the time they actually get to Le Mans, they'll be able to release information so that the media will be able to actuallt write about them. I mean, that's what PR is for, right? Because you actually want the publicity?
