How can you copy and paste a sheet from one spreadsheet to another and keep formulas, links to external data etc. intact? I've tried paste special, but the best i've managed is to embed an excel object of some sorts into the destination spreadsheet. I see that i can reference another spreadsheet so any changes to the source are reflected in destination but i don't want to do that either. Just copy paste. Must be simple to do this - but i'm stumped...

Not sure I fully understand the difficulty you're having but right click on the sheet tab at the bottom of the sheet you want to copy, select the location where you want the sheet to go, tick the copy box and enter.

If you have both workbooks open :
Right click on the sheet tab and select ,move or copy.
Dialog box opens, select the new workbook from the drop down list and check the create a copy check box. This will create a copy of your sheet in the other workbook.
