Hi I have a 97 2.5 boxter with full psh and has been very well looked after - unfortunatly I am experiancing leaking problems that my porsche garage is having problems in solving. It is wet behind both seats but most notably the door pannel of the driver door - occassionaly to the passengers door. it has been to the garage now 6 times and they have changed the seals etc etc. Still no joy. They have checked the seals however still no luck. Wondering if anyone else may have had this problem or can suggest anything. I am and I know that the garage seem to be stumped!

A bit of lateral thinking - try asking on the TVR forum. They might provide a clue at least. After the initial ribbing.

I am assuming that they have checked the drain holes to make sure that they are not blocked?

Is the hood fitting properly?

Also what about the plastic sheet that normally seals between the door casing and the interior door card/panel.

Just a few suggestions but I guess your dealer has already looked at these.

This isn't meant as a smart-arse reply, but the spelling is "Boxster" with an S - could make a lot of difference if you're doing searches and stuff

Hello

if both areas behind the seats are wet then you have a couple of options..

1)The door membrane which sits behind the door trim panel is leaking in water and normally the bottom of the doors are wet to touch.
2)The drain holes/tubes are blocked in the rear of the hood section.
3)The rear membranes in the hood are split and leaking into the car.

Now that there is water in the vehicle the carpets will have to be removed to dry properley as under the carpet is approx 3" of foam...like a sponge.
Also you will have to check and see if the alarm control module is submerged in water (under the passengers seat)
as this will cause all sorts of future problems.

thanks

If it's the roof itself that's leaking, I have used Fabsil to waterproof it ...

Thanks for your reply.
I am stupid - I'm Sorry Boxster is correct, my typing is obviously not as good as I once thought.
At the moment the garage have replaced the door membranes 2 or 3 times. Most recently they have replaced the membrane behind the seats that they say sperate the engine compartment. When checking it is the foam under the back seats that is wet and i will take your advice mike ta.
At one point they said they were going to replace all seals however stopped in the end (?expense). They are now pretty unsure bur really appreciate all your advice.
I will take it back and go through these options with them. Many thanks!
Colin
