The keyboard on my HP laptop broke.I got a relacement for about £20 and it took me 10 mins to fit.

Word to the wise, any repairs conducted will void the waranty... make sure she understands that.

Look around ebay for another Dell, or search for Dell Laptop Keyboard. You might find someone selling a spares/repair unit that is compatible (i.e. my XPS Gen 2's keyboard is a bog standard Inspirion 17" one).

Why dont you simply contact Dell, explain the situation, and ask them to send you a replacement plastic letter, I am sure they just click on.
