With all the heavy rain that we've had I keep getting a very large swimming pool form on the spoiler and rear window and would like to know if anyone has an idea of how I can stop this?
I can see that there are two half inch long holes on each inside end of the spoiler but they don't seem to go anywhere.
Please help!!

if the spoiler has drainage holes either end then these can be unblocked pretty easily with a straightened paper clip and some gentle exploring

Brilliant, I'll give it a go at lunchtime.
Where do the drains run off to? I can't see any outlets on the underside of the spoiler or am I just not looking hard enough?

You are just not looking hard enough - or else they are so blocked up with leaf gunge that they have disguised themselves as part of the spoiler. The channels are quite long - a paperclip may not be long enough unless its a big one. Judicious application of a power washer nozzle gets them cleared right out.

Leaf gunge is the enemy

I used to use a small scredriver. You will find the hole if you run your finger around the corner of the spoiler

You should also check the wells under your boot carpet at either side. These should be bone dry and have no water in. There are also drain holes in the bottom of these. The left hand one is a bit more of a pain to check due to the battery being there.

Don't forget the sunroof drain holes either....

An excellent probe is that plastic covered spiral wire stuff your granny used for hanging her net curtains.

I think its called Plastic Covered Spiral Wire Stuff for Grannies.

... cleaning out the spoiler holes is like picking your nose - a messy job but very satisfying! (They don't quite gurgle like a plughole in the bath when you clear them, but it's not far off!)

If the car is ever parked on uneven ground you can get leaks into the foot wells caused by water collecting on the panel under the bonnet (skuttle?) around the mesh air intake. I always found the problem went away if I cleaned out all the leaves that collect in there every few weeks through the autumn months.
