Dear All

I have been offered a 2005 /05 Cayenne Turbo, and I'd like some advice on a reasonable price for it. There seems to be a big variance in OPC prices on these, which doesn't help.

It has 7000 miles, 2 owners, UK supplied, black with black leather, TV, panoramic roof, telephone, plus some other (less important) bits I've forgotten. It is in excellent condition.

It is a private sale (from my boss actually) so I'd like it to be good value....

Thanks for your help.

Added to say OPC prices range from £48k to £68k for 04 and later turbos. Mid 50s seems about typical for a good spec 05.

It might be an idea to try and ask a couple of dealers what they would bid on the car (quote the full spec.) and then you could offer him the average price (plus an incentive, if he needs/wants one)

It's possible that he might offer you the car at a discount if he is feeling in the Christmas spirit but don't tell Mr Brown as if it's a company car, the Company are obliged to declare a benefit-in-kind if they sell an asset to an employee for below its market value - although there is some room to manoeuver here.

Go in low, these cars are available now on 03 plates from around 35k and with the new model due out soon expect them to fall even further. I know the one you want is an 05, but this serves as an indication of what your will be worth in a year or two's time.

As well as the colour, the type of wheel will affect the value noticeably. Ideally you want 20" Sport Technos (5 spoke), or otherwise 20" Sport Design (multispoke) which just to make matters confusing look just like the 19" onesrolleyes Standard size is just 18".

Don't forget that the waranty will expire at 2 years old so budget for re-newing it (£895) in March or whenever it hits 2 years. An OPC car will come with minimum 12months from the day you get it.
