At Silverstone today and the washer on the bung by the engine for the coolant gave way after a couple of laps. So i was facing a wait for the AA and a long trip home.

Calum Lockie phoned the service manager at Silverstone OPC and they took me straight in and fixed it once the coolant had cooled down. I then had a great afternoon and got to see 2 997 GT3 RS and 2 Carerra GTs on the track at the same time.

A huge thanks to Calum and Melinda at Gold Track and Chris at Silverstone OPC for saving the day.

Nice to meet you. What are the wheels on your car?

I have to second the huge thanks to Porsche Silverstone. I arrived with the car at about 10am on the back of a lowloader (2 failed coil packs). At about 12.30 I had the car on track.

Big thanks!!

The wheels are cargraphics, with Toyo R888s on. Not sure they make the same wheels anymore, Pattern is same as the BBS Le Mans. Nice to meet you too and glad the car is ok.

Hope the 964 anniversary that hit the pit wall does not belong to anyone on here.

Ah, thanks very much, very nice selection of pics of a group of mouth watering vehicles.

Love the two 997RSs, both are absolutely stunning. The flymo orange is certainly growing on me, and I've always loved the Black with orange and orange cage combo (is he a pistonheader?). And two Carrera GTs. Beautiful. Wish I could have gone and watched or something. Silverstone's not far.

Here's to that - bad luck, but at least you're not injured.

On a lighter note - come on the Bergy, JC, Glenn etc what are the new toys like on track?

Reports awaited.

Glen, yes i was in the yellow GT3.

Having just looks at the pics, I've worked out who you are. Thanks very much for the tip about short changing into 4th before the main satright. By the end i was through the last bend flat out. Also helped that Calum showed me a new line through the complex which meant i was carrying far more speed. Felt really great by the end of the day.

Roll on the next one
