Average mileage
Discussion
After ringing round a few dealers to get a price for selling my 2003/52 996 recently I was quite to surprised to hear a few of them say that its mileage is pretty high at 37000.
Just wondered what the average for a 996 is?? I'd have thought that mine is average to low if anything at around 8k/year

stealers make me laugh so much.
when selling a car its the best in the world, when buying its the biggest pile of crap they will never shift.
Speak to an OPC service man and he will tell you that 996's have far more trouble if they are not driven regularly yet the shark in the M&S suit will tell you they are crap with highish mileage.
My local OPC has a 51 plate C2 for sale. Funny point number 1 is the £41995 asking price! funny point number 2 is that in its 5 years of life it has only covered 10000 miles!

Totally agree.
They need USING.
My car has done 62000 miles in 6 years, so just over 10,000 a year on average.
It's first owner did 29,000 in five years, so under 6,000 a year. I have a sheaf of bills for work for this period - brakes, leaking seals, leaking gaskets, petrol filters etc etc.
I have done 33,000 in two years , so 16,500 a year.......... Aside from an electrial gremlin cured under warranty by replacement DME and Alarm system and routine servicing NOTHING has gone wrong. It's drier than a nun's crack underneath, no leaks, no drips. The more I drive it (and it gets driven EVERY day for at least two hours) the better it's getting. So I'm keeping it. I'm gonna get me a sports exahust, a Zymol treatment by a pro in spring, and some nice new GT3 Mk II alloys.
That way I save myself £7k, and I don't have to endure having some heavily fragranced oik with acne, a green hued suit, tassled loafers and half a tub of Tesco Value hairgel telling me how it's a car no one would ever want that's worth less than his (nylon) shirt.
Stealers.

What are you trying to say?

Ditto on usage = less problems, got mine @ 28k just over 2yrs ago, 57k now, only costs apart from service were new brakes and a new battery, by far the cheapest car I've run... I'd almost be willing to offer 30days guarantee to new owner when I sell as I'm so confident of its reliability.
