Could someone cast en experienced eye over this please....
Discussion
Hi folks,
Just 'perusing' ebay, and slipped from the boxster section onto 968's as I've always liked them....
This looks nice, but to me there is 'something' not quite right about the rear nearside quarter, can someone confirm this or is it my eyes....I'm thinking maybe accident damage / repair. Not necessarily a problem, I've had a couple of 944's so appreciate they are strong cars, I'm no expert on porsche bodywork, ok with tivs, but they are easy to repair...
Apologies if it's anyones on here, I'm not trying to highlight any problems, but would appreciate porker experts casting an eye over the pictures.
Thanks
Mike.

I think it might have had a smack.
Front and rear P/U's have been off it, panel gaps are poor, O/S Shark fin has excessive gap, small ding above N/S shark fin (not to be worried about except unsightly).
And the inerior colour particularly the steering wheel is not great IMO. Black or cream would be far better.

flaming hell - your eyesight must be better than mine (not difficult, I admit). i thought it looked pretty much like mine at the back. - now I'm worried!
just another observation - the trim appears to be missing along the door panels - but this may just be a factory variant. And the interior looks very worn for a car with only 60K miles or so. Mine has the same interior (I really like it but Ive got very dark blue exterior - it doesnt look so good on the light blue) and it looks an awful lot fresher than that. may just be a case of giving it some gliptone but I'd have expected less wear. the seat bolsters look particularly worn.
then again, a cab capable of 140+ for 6K? not bad, even if you spend 2-3K getting it up to scratch

if in doubt - irrespective of its potential bargain status - simple PH buying rules should be applied.
Simply re-arrange the following words into a common phrase or saying:
touch, dont, a, with, it, bargepole
The thing is its a 10+ year old car, chances are it will have had paint at some point, it might also be that it it is totally original and the panel gaps just aren't great, who knows from a picture, but looking at it there are uneven panel gaps, and from memory 968's are usually pretty good, However even if it has had work involving the front and rear P/U's to be removed doesn't mean it is a bad car.
If you like it get it inspected.

I will be able to sell you a tahoe blue (I think that's the colour) 944 cab (RHD) that a friend's had since 1991 (when 8 months old) but needing an engine repair/replacement for about £4000, but not for 3 months or so. If it's of interest email me and I'll explain. The engine work (usual top end chain stuff) will cost £1500 or so.

I could do the engine work, definately interested, but have a chimaera to shift. The chim is a great car, but I fancy another porker.
doesn't want a nice chimaera does he.
