We currently have mountains of paper arriving back at the office when every project finishes up, and now want to implement some sort of electronic document storage to avoid this.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to systems to use for this?

All that has happened so far is that a scanner such as a Fujitsu FI-5530C has been allocated to each future project.

There are many document management solutions on the market.

Some can cost hunderds of thousands of pounds.

If you want a cheap option, try Microsoft's Sharepoint.
They do a free version which is great for stndard document management.
If you want more advanced features such as collaboration and tighter integration, they also do a paid fo version which you can upgrade to if you like the free version.

You will then need a decent Windows server and plenty of storage to hold the documents.

See here: www.microsoft.com/sharepoint/default.mspx

and here for a useful, free downloadable guide: http://mssharepoint.advisorguide.com/

There's a few systems out there, depends on exactly what you need.

Try talking to the guys at IDT (01992 708600) - they are resellers for Formscape/Alchemy and some others.
