Love the pictures.

But then again I love taking pictures of animals, fascinating things to watch.

Marwell has a lot of glass and wire so a lot of pictures were slightly obscured like your last Monkey one?

Just looked your Zoo up and it's in London right?

Worth a travel up from down south?

I'm off to Longleat on the 25th so hopefully I'll post back with more amature pictures.

You're quite right - no way could I get anything of the Chimp without the wire and contrast had suffered on the lions which are through (fairly dirty) glass!

Don't get confused with London - this ones just off the M1 (mind you the local roads were shut when I went and did a detour of several miles!)

Which lens did you use?

Woburn is a great place to get animal pictures - close to Milton Keynes.
Apart from all the large animals outside, all of the smaller animals have little or no fencing around them - just aerial walkways etc. The marmosets are brilliant, just running around int he open.

Good pictures, I love taking animals pictures

Whipsanade is in Dunstable,
Woburn safari is also a good bet, only half hour away,
Another good one is Cotswold wildlife, near Burford, Oxon, you can get pretty close to animals as enclosures are smaller, the birds and the zebras/rhinos are also 'free' so you can get pics with no fences in.

Thanks for your comments, I don't get to do animal shots very often but this was an enjoyable day out!

To answer a couple of the questions:

Digital (Nikon D70)

70-300mm and 500mm Nikkors

Great shots. Flamingos look very vibrant.

I like Colchester Zoo. Huge amount of animals and the Elephants, Giraffes, Rhinos plus a few others are in huge enlcosures with little obscuring the view.

some shots from my last visit here www.mrndesigns.com/page2.htm towards the end of the "Living" gallery.
