Nice day so ventured into the garden and came across these chaps..





and a what I think is a Cardinal Beetle



Pleased with the second one considering it wasn't on a tripod.

Impressive!

I think the 2nd one is a lily beetle. So if you have any lilies, prepare to see them disappear more or less overnight.

Had this thing firing it's self at the window last night. Normally I wouldn't have noticed, but it was making a racket.

Odd thing though, like a massive flying beetle. It's antennae had like little fans on the end....

Euchhhh.

I must have been particularly dull last night! I'd not realise that this was a photography thread. I can assure you I did not take the pictures I posted, they came from my mate Wiki.

They're different beetles though - they've got black heads.

I have no lilys in my garden but does that mean that they've eaten them or they're just lost. ?

Ah I can see the difference. Mine were definitely found on lilies. smile
