After many month deliberation, I've finally got my ass back onto a bike.
Almost got put 6 feet under in Febuary by a numpty white van driver who pretty obliviously drove into the side of me on a main road.
Picking up a CBR600F tomorrow, any advice for a returning biker whos been off games for the summer?
Most of my experience is on an NC30 - is this going to be a major learning experience or do they handle similarly?

Have fun fella, take it easy, it's no longer summer so the roads are wet & slippery and your tyres will take longer to warm up. (Gentle throttle action, don't just whack it open)

Don't accelerate hard when you are setting out (as a few folk I know have done & highsided recently).

Watch out for the cagers who are half asleep on the morning commute as they are sat in a warm vehicle and likely to be less alert.

thats cool thanks - its ironic, i havn't actually ever ridden through a british summer, except when i was 18 on a 125!
Since I got my license i've either been seconded to another country, sans bike, or off the road in physio or something else i cant remember...
I did my CBT in sleet and commuted through the snow last winter.
Providing its not too much of a change, and providing bikings easy to pick up again, then I'll be fine. I havn't got time to do a refresher course, but isnt bikesafe at weekends?

Bikesafe is run during the week as well, but the weekend sessions tend to get booked up quicker for obvious reasons

Two of my mates did the London Bikesafe at the Warren two Saturdays ago - booked it with two days notice and there were only 5 of them on the course. An instructor each! Where can you get that level of instruction for £30?!
