Sorry, but I just have to resurrect this topic –
I now face the same problem many of you had last year with my rear Bridgestones needing replacing. I’m ruling out Toyo R888s as I don’t do enough track work but am considering Eagle F1As

Here’s the tricky bit – I’m thinking about leaving the SO3s on the front as loads of tread left.
I’ve seen some of your thoughts on the subject of mixing tyre brands but some of the TVR boys seem to be doing this OK.

So just wondered with a year since the passing of the SO3s, whether any of the nobility have tried the Eagle F1s and has anyone mixed these with SO3s on the front or tried the Bridgestone RE050As with the SO3.

Ran with F1A's and thought they were good, but that was in comparison to SO3's. Wouldnt mix and match on a Noble to be honest

I use the RE050's that are supposedly the S03 replacements. Not sure if them on the rear and S03's on the front will work but they not bad tyres.

I paid £132ea inc fitting.

I have So3's on the front and N4's on the back. Almost all road stuff since and it's fine. Barely noticable 99% of the time.

I had F1-A on mine - £550 for all 4. Seem as good as any.

Unless you want to learn to drive again, another two times, change all at the same time.

The rubber is one of the most important parts on a car, any car.

On the Noble, with the performance etc, 100 times more important.

Whatever you do, all 4 corners should be on the same rubber. You can not afford to save money on this.

Most important, in no particular order.

I have So3's on the front and N4's on the back. Have had them on for a few months now, not noticed any problems.

Er no, only if they're all worn out. You run the rears down 2 or 3 times as quick as the fronts, so the rears are changing their characteristics all the time. Think about it, changing all 4 tyres you're going from almost new fronts and bald rears to new fronts and new rears, a massive change at the back.

Basically any of the mentioned S03 esk replacements will be fine.

When I got my Nob it has S03s on the front and PZero Corsa on the rears. The two types did not cause my any problems but a month or so ago I needed new rears. I was in the same position, i.e. the fronts had loads of tread left but I went for all 4 as I think they should not be mixed.

Also, I got mine from Kwik-Fit. They came out at about £250 for the rears and £150 for the fronts. But, they give 25% off for all 4, so buying the rears would have cost me £500 but all 4 cost £600, so for £100 extra it was a brainer.

Gents

Thanks for the helpful comments re tyre choices

I'm going for the F1As just on the rear - getting them on Wednesday - fronts currently a bit dificult to get hold of.

Looks like I'll be taking it easy initially but will hopefully then have fun scrubbing away the outer tread of the S03s
