I covered all the leather with waterproof, scratchproof blankets and put a basket on top. His harness prevented him from moving far. I took him for a long walk before going in so he slept most of the 4.5 hour journey.

Ok, so he's only 4 months old, and he's gonna grow... a lot! Haven't quite got the answer to what'll happen then, but right now I can confirm a 911 is practical for transporting a labrador biggrin

A few years back I stuck my 964 3.6 turbo round my sisters house while we had some work being done at our house. She took it for a spin with one of her dogs in the car. I went f'ing mad. Thankfully no claw marks where found. (I would have killed her).

My Springer hates car travel actually,
although he goes in the back of mine OK
seats down, duvet or similar as a base and up towards the parcel shelf he's going nowhere,

reckon he's possibly half as big again as yours presently

I can confirm from first hand experience that you can get a large fully-grown Belgian Shepherd Dog into a 911, or even an oversize male Afghan Hound.

I've even transported an injured deer to a wildlife hospital in mine once.

Got completely the wrong end of the stick. Thought this was going to be a thread about Jade Goodie.

I used to regularly transport a friend's cocker spaniel in my car. Used a harness so that she wouldn't move about and she slept most of the time and would get up to look around once in a while but was happy to sleep.

My labrador has done thousands of miles in the back of my various 911s, but draws the line when asked to share space with a roll cage. Here she is in my 993RS, which is great as there are no rear seats, so with a couple of cushions in the footwell and in the seat pan, she ends up very comfortable.

My 10 month old Choc lab happily lies in the passenger footwell of whatever car i'm in and always sleeps for the whole journey however far it is !

Lucy my Vizzila has only ever traveled by 911 except for the boxter West London loan me at service time.
She prefers the seats in the GT3 to comfort seats

I used to take my Border Collie out in my 2 993's, she would sit on the front seat (with a seat belt on), or I would out both rear seats down and let her sit across them.
Not taken her out in the GT3, and don't think I will be.

Our dog loves the tunnel between the rear seats, makes a great head rest! Only problem is a perpetually hairy/dirty interior, well, at least until it goes in for a service and it gets a proper clean...

Nothing that drools, sheds or pukes goes within 50 ft of my 911. Anything that does travels with Mrs Londoner as her car is like a tip on wheels

Both my red setters fit in the back of my 4S with the roof down ! (But it does look a bit gay !)

Glad to read this thread. I have just bought a 3yr old 997 instead of a new Cayman so that we can accommodate our Westie. Obviously the right decision!

Paul,

We had a Cayman and I winged an upgrade to a 997 out of the Mrs wanting a dog!

"Well, if you really want this puppy (the one she was holding at the time) then we'll have to change the car to a 997 or he can't go anywhere with us". Drove from the breeder to the OPC! biggrin

Super little chap - got me a 997 before he even arrived. Man's best friend? Oh yes!! yes

I'm amazed how many of you have your dogs in your 911s!

I have a Vizsla and a GSD and they travel in the 4x4.

I was in London the other day and saw a brand new 997 Turbo with a huge dog on the passenger seat - made me laugh as I thought it was a rarity - it would seem not!

Where did the injured deer go??
