Hi,

I've got myself involved with a project for a local school who are a registered charity and we need a website building for a fund raising project they have going. Does anybody know if there are any organisations out there that provide free (unlikely!) or low cost website design for a registered charity? We could muster around £300 absolute max if need be. The site is mainly for PR and to inform people about the project plus *may be* actual fund collection.

Thanks

I'd be happy to help wink Been building sites (hand coding) for 4 years now and am a full time web builder bloke (official title). Not sure about the "fund collection" part though..

I'll start the bidding for the work:

Couldn't the fund collection be run through a link to Justgiving?

I'm sure you could knock something up at pages.google.com

You'll need a google account but it no hardship, make sure the username is something that will link it to your needs as that will be the URL aswell. Or just get a domain name from jamie (register1.net) and point it to the google site.

With a link to just giving aswell of course for the fund raising side.

Isn't there anyone within this charity that can do it? It's not that hard.

Have a word with your local Chamber of Commerce, they may be able to put you in touch with an organisation that could give you a grant, especially yours being a not for profit org.

Probably the best time of year for grants too, those with 2007 funding will rather give it away before the end of the financial year (April) rather than give it back to the RDA or wherever it came from.

OTOH, if they dont have any grants, you will be well positioned to get one in the new financial year

Darren, this basically means I can set up a Content Management System so you/the charity can update the site when required. It's really easy to do and no technical skills on your part are required. I will also provide a step-by-step guide/pdf on how to update the site.
