Switching off roaming profiles
Discussion
How is this done?? I've found the following article on it
http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/lib...
(see the 'Disabling Roaming User Profiles on Certain Computers' section)
but to me its about as clear as mud. Can someone with some knowledge in this area please clarify it for me with a complete idiots guide??
Our setup is as follows: Windows 2003 SBS, with clients all on XP
Cheers

This is assuming you've got a domain running:
Create an Organisational Unit in Active Directory, put the machine accounts in it for which you want to disable roaming profiles.
At this point it becomes much easier if you've got the Group Policy Management (GPM) app installed.
In GPM Create and link a new policy to the OU you've just created, and then edit it to set the setting for disabling RPs.
Sorry for the rushed answer, but lunch is calling.
