Well ive gone and done it, sitting at my desk on Saturday waiting for the rush of people to come and buy there new cars for March and getting bored, saw a Hayabusa for sale at a motor bike shop in Bournemouth.

So I rang the guy to ask him about it. Now having all the info decided to ring the war office to ask her opinion, this is a wonderful woman of 26 ½ years of marriage who absolutely hates bikes.

But as a loyal and understanding partner she said if you want it but it, so I rang the dealer back and said I will have and gave them a deposit.

I picked the bike up on Wednesday and rode home with a smile from Bournemouth to Frimley. Now for the next question, do I go and get noisy exhaust system or just leave it as it is.

P.s rode it to work this morning, cold but happy.

if you find there isnt enough power for you , then by all means fit an aftermarket exhaust.

Please dont just fit cans though , you will be wasting your money if it is extra performance you are after , plus the fuelling WILL be ste .

A full system ( akro ) and a pc will give you a big increase .

Mine , as bog standard put out 163 at the wheel on the DSD dyno.

Have fun ,

Tyre pressures need to be accurate , and suspension set up properly

It's not performance, it's the noise I am looking for, as an unrestricted bike I think it is quick enough.

Buy the way what it the recommended tyre pressure?

I would second (in part) about cans. If you're gonna fit cans make sure you get a Power Commander fitted and get it setup right.
But reasonably fruity cans will sound (and look IMO) alot nicer than the standard ones.

Great bike tho!

What model year have you bought mate?

The brakes are the weakest point on anything but the new model.

Std tyre pressures are 42/42..only lowered mine a smidgeon on the track.

Be prepared to make good friends with you local tyre outlet, nothing eats tyres like a busa.

Enjoy anyway, great bike for the missus as well.

Podman

It's registered in 2000. The front brake does feel a little "soft" to me, but the guy at the dealership said he has put new front pads in, I may bleed the brakes at the weekend to see if it makes any diffrence.

IOt wont , unless he has cocked up.

You need bendix pads and new brake lines.
