after a couple of weeks standing in airport parking, my 3 series has developed a rust of the wheelhubs!
any ideas how this can be removed? is it just a case of wire wool and elbow grease, or is there something more high-tech out there (bear in mind I'm quite lazy). Also, any suggestion on how I can prevent the rust returning would be appreciated - hammerite or a thin layer of grease / wd40 is all I can think of at the moment...
cheers,

This is very annoying & embarassing to explain to customer's that their new £57,000 M3 has rusty hubs due to it being sat around for a few weeks waiting for them to collect it.
You can get them scrubbed and painted will be fine, wish the factory would do it though it's not like you've not paid for it FFS.

You could remove them and send them to these guys, or just get new nickel plated discs from them and swap. These stay this bright for at least 4 -5 years, you will probably have worn them out by then anyway!
