Hi Folks -

In the next couple of months I'll be in need of replacement cross drilled rotors for my 3.0 Z3 Coupe. I bought the car with these installed by the P.O. Any suggestions as to best place(s)/prices to purchase replacements?

Thanks in advance!

You're wasting your money with drilled... drilled rototrs are 99.9% cosmetic. Go for either slotted or standard. I had stoptech slotted rotors on my Z4, I didn't notice any bad vibration through the brake pedal which is some times associated with grooved discs and they always kept the pads fresh.. never glazed over.

Good read here: http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/faqs.shtml

if these use the same floating disks as the M Coupe then stick to them. From what i have read non after market disk has worked as well as the oem floater unless big money is spent.

Are the BMW OE optional ones cross-drilled or are the holes cast like in some of the Porsche ones?

Don't slotted discs cause excessive/quick wear?

Thanks again.

Not sure excessive is the right word.. but I guess in theory they will wear out slight quicker.. maybe 2k less on a set or something. But in my opinion keeping the pads "fresh" it is def worth it.. they feel as good 10k miles later than the day I put them on (well after the run in period)

GSF do decent replacements. Best 'on a budget' stoppers for mine were Brembo Max cast iron discs (grooved) and Pagid pads, but GSF don't do Pagid any more. They sell Zimmerman discs, which I think are drilled, if you're desperate for drilled discs.
