Just came across this, recently uploaded vid.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8SG1dlPWX4

Just curious if its anyone on here, or anyone knows the owner (and if they're okay !!), and what the story was. Quite taken back by Riks summary, but then we dont know what happened I guess.

(Photos to start with, but video later (recorded by a 10 year old by the sound of it)

Anyone ??

Not sure it's a great idea to publically posting up video evidence with his opinion

I'm always impressed with how well the cockpit of the elise stands up in an accident, I'd imagine if it did the ncap tests it would do quite well.

yesyesyes Agreed with your comment regarding NCap testing. I am involved with these tests as part of my job & agree that the Elise would probably do better than some people think.

Indeed he is. Seems to be revelling in the fact that a serious motor accident has just taken place.

Thats ok mate. I crash test child seats & have been involved with NCap since car manufactures started gaining extra points (star ratings) for how well child seats perform in there cars. Mira in Nuneaton is probably your best bet if you want to try somewhere.

That is scandal green which i thought only came on the Sport 160, same as the red alcantara interior. However engine and wheels are 111s.

Strange.

Were several scandal green 111s including the original press car. That's a ex-factory plate ending SCL.

I think that one is the 160 development car which started off as a managers car for the then MD of Lotus Cars.....

Not the car that ended up honda'ed - sure that was badged 111s ??

Yup, that's a 111s alright and a rare one at that.

Such a shame to see it meet it's maker.

Can't see it getting back on the road in a hurry - shame.

Hope the driver is ok. Must have been quite an impact judging by the damage to both vehicles!

There were some pistachio 111S which can look similar in photos (car in video is definitely scandal tho') but isn't as loud in real life as scandal green. There used to be a bloke called Gary, forget his surname, who came on Fish and Chip runs with a standard S1 that was in scandal. At the end of the S1 run Lotus seemed happy to put almost any colour on: have a mate with a starlight black S1 Elise from the factory.
