Errr, title says it all really - nipped into town to buy a games console and ended buying a Mazda 6 MPS. redface

Didn't intend buying another car but I've got a new business starting up in Cheltenham so I need to do quite a few miles cross country and leasing a car is very expensive if you want to do 30k+ miles so I bought the Mazda. It's ex-demo with a 1000 miles on and cost £8000 less than new. I think it should be a good tool as it's very comfortable but can play like a Scooby WRX if you feel like it.

Anyone else been out to spend a few quid and come back with a £16k car or is it just me? hehe

Sounds familiar. Went to Sainsbury's one Saturday morning. Ended up in the Audi garage next door, test-driving an RS4. Bought one a week later. Is this what the ads mean by 'try something new today'? smile

Had a couple of them, did about 25k in 12 months. Was an absolutely fantastic car, and the best thing was, nobody really knew what or how quick it was..

It certainly suprised a few people that's for sure.

That's exactly what I was looking for - a Scooby or EVO wouldn't fit in with my sober clients and attracts a bit too much attention for the mileage I've got to do. The MPS looks perfect for the job and I shall find out on Saturday when I pick it up! driving

laugh Good form!

I once had to annouce my return from the shops with: "they didn't have the bread you normally get. Also, I've accepted an offer on the house". The house was not for sale when I left.

And on the total flip side, when sent out by the missus to investigate purchasing an MPV, I got half way there, purchased an Xbox 360 and returned home.

They will keep on dropping like a stone.

16k is a good price for an ex demo.

Whenever we get one in as part ex I can not find one garage who wants to buy it.

Mazda dealers run a mile.

I think they're a very 'PH' car - off the radar a little, but very competent.

It really appeals to us sorts... wink

Oh yeah, you can buy a 6 MPS in Gran Turismo 5 too, so you could tell the wife that you just got a bit confused... wink

I once went out to buy some new golf clubs and bought an apartment instead.

Apart from that, the only other one was going to "look" at a 3 series coupe and coming back with an Alfa GTV.

These things happen i guess.
