Rock Direct go into Administration.

Ordered a laptop from Rock Direct two weeks ago and now they've gone into admninistation. At least the hadn't taken any money out and hopefully won't.

I only ordered from them because Alienware lost the laptop I ordered from them and were messing about and not sending me a replacement.

Could anyone be more unlucky? Think I'll play safe and go to PC World so that at least I've got the thing in my hands when I pay.

Dell do some sturdy laptops and offer good value. Customer service was excellent when i had an issue and I don't think they will end up bankrupt soon.

Screens are often held in local distribution centres, but PCs are built to order and shipped from Limerick.

Seems pretty cheap too:

I know a few people who have used Laptops direct. Also worth looking at www.ebuyer.com (which I could never figure out if they are the same company). Still, know a few people who have used Ebuyer and they are good too. Cheap as chips.
