I am fed up with my jurassic pc and thought it about time to upgrade. think i will plumb for a mac desktop this time round but i can't afford a direct purchase. Probably have to get Hpi ( i know ) but i can easily afford payments of £30 odd a month for a year or so.
Any reccomendations on models and places to buy?
I use it for the net mainly and some photo work but nothing a low end pc couldn't handle. Was thinking of setting up a few outdoor webcams as well.
I use a console for games.
Thanks
smile

Apple computers are the same price near enough everywhere you go. Best place to buy from is John Lewis as they offer a 2 year warranty instead of one. Assuming you have a nice enough screen and usb keyboard and mouse, I'd get a mac mini, fantastic pieces of kit.

Yeah i phoned them today and they don't do credit. I might be able to push to a mac mini for cash but to get the mac experience i was hoping for the all in one jobie mentioned for £700.
John Lewis was my first choice as their after sales service is second to none imo. A mac mini would fulfill my needs and i have the peripherals already, tatty as they are. But you know how it goes right?. You get an idea and it grows and you want what you can't affordhehe

if you use dixons they do credit and you'll find discount codes for £30 or so if you look around!

Apple themselves do some form of credit, whenever I've specced up a machine online there is always a little box at the bottom that says 'own this mac for x £'s a month'.

Not sure how good a deal they are or what the rates are, perhaps better using a 0% credit card?

Good idea, John lewis do their own card. I'll check if it's o%. Although probably have to buy on existing card then transfer debt onto a new 0% card for crid transfers.
