Hi folks....new to the site so first of all hello!
Im looking to invest in a Bmw Convertible on or around a 53 plate, but after chatting with various people about economy at the moment and tax prices etc, i decided to look for a 320 M Sport. It was then brought to my attention that the 320 has a 6 Cylinder (V6) engine, but the 325 & 330 have a 6 cylinder (Straight 6)engine.....

Can anybody give me any advice on both of these engines pro's and con's and also does anyone have any info on what each of these engines average mpg???
Any info on yearly road tax prices would be helpfull also......

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!

The 320 does not have a V6 engine, it is also a Straight 6. All 3 cars have M54 Straight Six petrol engines. The 320 is a 2.2, whereas the 325 and 330 are 2.5 and 3.0 respectively. The fuel consumption between these engines is very, very similar - there is about 1.5mpg between them on the combined cycle. Servicing and repair costs are identical becuase all other parts are the same.

Therefore you should get the biggest engine one you can as it wont be any more expensive to run bar insurance.

320Ci Sport Cab's Co2 figure is 225g/km for a manual car, and 236g/km for the auto. Therefore manual will cost £300 for 12 months road tax in 2009/10 and £310 in 2010/11, auto will be £415 in 2009/10 and £430 in 2010/11.

325 and 330 are 230g/km and 229g/km for manual cars, so both will cost £415 in 2009/10 and £430 in 2010/11. Automatic versions have a slightly higher Co2 figure, but stay in the same road tax bracket.
