Sadly you cant get hold of the K1 attack anymore so was wondering whether there is anything else that looks as slick and supercar like. That was one kit car to die for and am wondering what else is around

Hi guys thanks for the replies. Lots of people say that there are lots nicer but i havent seen one as of yet. Im talking about modern super car looks,

Ive seen one which seems ok ish but look a little ugly from certain angles which is the GTM.

The murtaya is another which is ok but not my cup of tea, what others can you guys think of which I can build for K1 type money.

From what ive heard between 10-14k you could have built a top notch k1 road ready, likewise what can i build similarly for that money that looks the part

cheers

Hmm ive seen this before, doesnt look all that to be honest. Another example similar to the GTM, looks deformed at certain angles and doesnt quite compete against the K1 Attack in looks

frown O i so hope someone finds a blinder of a kit for me

Im a fan of most things kit car but I do agree.. the K1 was certainly the most modern and original looking kit available. Nothing comes close thats about today. Building one is another story though.

May well be some second hand or unfinished (even unstarted) kits available privately. If you are really keen you could advertise, or ask the importers if they know of any

V8OWNER, thanks for the link mate. I must say i do have some sort of soft spot for the car but it just doesnt quite tick all the boxes lol

Regarding second hand K1 kits or importers getting them in, over the past year ive come across a few but they have been incomplete i.e. missing vital factory parts or part built which i dont want or alternatively specialist importers who claimed they could get me a complete right hand kit but at extortionate prices.

So in essence im a little screwed with the K1, either i have to let go of a lot more cash or i dont get a proper kit. Hence the reason i finally give up and started looking around for some alternative kits.

I was so fed up that i ended up buying a TVR Cerbera to fulfil that kit car buzz

Don't worry mate, the GTM Libra is sensational in the flesh, absolutely brilliant to drive and the company actually sold some that people are able to build.

No kit is worth a st 'til it sells to some customers who buy in enough numbers to keep the company in business. Stick with the TVR. Oh wait, what was that about keeping a company in business...? LOL!

K1 Attack???? rofl Another kit bites the dust....

Ferg, I understand what your saying but its just the idea of building the car yourself and then for it to look supercar like at the same time is just such a great feeling. The TVR although feels like a very powerful kit car, you cant really buy it in a kit and get the buzz out of building it.

The Libra, I did look at but it seems too much like a little bubble lol. I dont know why but it doesnt seem appealing to me.

I dont know how well the slovaks think they are going to do buy selling turnkey versions of the K1 but personally i think its a bad idea and they should have concentrated on more kits throughout the world, improving their customer service. Their kits would have flown off the shelf if they were marketed right and they would have sold more kits compared to a single turnkey model

Currently, all the cars they are apparently building are pre ordered but it takes longer to get one ready compared to the kits.

Sadly I've been involved with the kitcar industry long enough to have seen plenty of cars like the Attack.
Did you see the one they showed at the UK shows? The finish was nowhere NEAR good enough to attract enough buyers.
Successful kitcar companies need to work a lot harder than just nice pictures and empty promises.
That's what I think anyway.
I'm slightly confused as to why you looked at the Libra. It's a lightweight practical sportscar, not a supercar. rolleyes

The K1 attack is not a supercar either. I have a friend who is building one and its definitely more of a 'show-piece' sportscar than master class in suspension design ect...

factory support is not always necessary either.. as long as you have the time there is always a way round a problem.

also.. I believe its not slovak anymore.. i think they have sold the design on to the danes or swiss or something..

The K1 at the shows (purple one) IMHO was very nicely done? certainly was getting alot of attention. It wasnt factory built and I seem to remember some ugly welding but thats all?

Ferg, the reason i looked at the Libra was when a friend of mine who used to build Caterhams over at Rippon told me to look at them. I had no clue what they were or looked like but as said, it was so appealing to me

V8, i understand where your coming from but do remember its not supercar performance im really after, its the super car looks as mentioned above.

I also remember the purple K1, it was very nice indeed although i had seen photos of it only.

Being able to find a kit designed with such supercar "looks" is very hard as i have realised over the last 1.5-2 years or maybe ive been looking in the wrong places

There are loads of replica Lambo kits etc but I dont want to build a replica, I want to build something original. Have been thinking of the Aero GT, but believe it will cost a lot of money to get on the road

This is not bad

Not totally won over myself with it but not a bad attempt.

There's the Marlin 5EXi of course and the Shelsey T2

Damn i thought you had a cracker for me then until i seen the rear frown

Also it resembles the lambourghini Diablo a little for some reason.

The 5exi i totally dont like however a lot of people talk good about them and the Shelsley looks too much like a Murtaya, i know what id have between the two, the Murtaya especially since I know a lot about Impreza engines after owning 5 biggrin

So i guess we got close with the veleno, lets see if there are any more
