DUMP VALVES ??
Discussion
As we all know, the Noble has a very distinctive sound.
Can anyone explain what and where the noises originate.
I was under the impression that dump valves were a standard fit, which would explain the alternating whoosh when coming off the gas. As my car (2.5 GTO)does not appear to have them fitted, can anyone explain the workings ?
Cheers..

Common misconception.
There are no dump valves. The noise is the pressure being released back through the inlet pipes and the air filters.
This is why 2.5s sound "better" than most 3Rs/400s as they have the filters moved further back. A few (like me) had them moved back to behind the bulkhead to keep the sound.

A good reason to fit a dump valve is that you'll get better throttle response.
A commonly used dump valve kit is available from Forge Motorsport - go to www.forgemotorsport.co.uk and search for "Noble". Make sure that you ask for the yellow spring for the kit. It's easy to fit this yourself.
