Desperately hoping someone on here can help me as Tiscali's Indian call centre is effing useless! Over the last couple of days I've been having problems with certain websites. For example I can get into my yahoo mail but when I try to view a specific e-mail it just takes ages and then times out. Same with ebay, I can view list items but can't get into view a specific item.

Also can't log onto my online banking, same problem. I'm using firefox but have tried with opera and ie and the same problem is occuring. Facebook will let me sign in but then I can't click on anything (inbox etc.)

I haven't installed anything recently or changed any settings. AVG has found the Tyranasuarus virus or something and I've got ad-aware checking at the moment. Anyone had anything similar to this, it's absolutely doing my head in!!

Thanks in advance for any advice, at least it'll let me log on here which surprised me!

Sounds like HTTPS is being blocked by something.

Click on this in various browsers. Do you get a padlock indicating a https connection?

https://www.google.com/adsense/login/en_US/?gsessi...

(The padlock is to the right of the address bar in FF 2.x)

Then you've got connection on port 443 which means https is working.

Google for Spybot Search & Destroy and install, update and then run it.

Problem isn't with your ISP, it's your machine.

It's found something called "ABetterinternet" could this be the guilty party? Will spybot completely remove it?

Should do.... Just let it do it's stuff. Might need to run it in Safe Mode if it can't shift it.
