Why are images so small on news items?

Or any article for that matter? This isnt 1997 and were not all running 800x600 screens.

For the Fez story we were only supplied with the images at the size you see when clicked on, so that is the biggest we have. When we do have bigger images on other stories and features we show larger pictures up to the max size of 800 pixels width.
We are looking into being able to show pictures in a better way and bigger, but that wont be till the new year.
