White chocolate baskets to serve some icecream in.

Does any one know where I can some moulds from? I need them to be about 4" in diameter.

I want to replicate a recipe I tried years ago which was kahlula and oreo cookie creamcream served in a white chocolate basket with some raspberry sauce.

I've made amaretto icecream in the past so thought i'd give this one a go.

Cheers,
Phill

I'd try a tin you'd otherwise use to make individual Yorkshire puddings in. £5 or so from Tesco.

You could also try Tescos for some disposable dishes- see the paper cup/plate section, they sell 8 bowls for about £2.50, they are about 2 inches on bottom and go to 4 inches at top- sound ideal and very handy fro what you need

Back of a ladle.

Get your white chocolate melted.

Put ladle in freezer whilst thats going on.

Dunk back in chocolate, remove, give it a minute to set and then pour in boiling water and it will fall off.

Done.

On the same page as Plotters, but be aware white chocolate once heated and set isn't too nice - what are you trying to make?

This will be your problem. The chocolate will not harden when it sets unless you temper it. Tempering chocolate is a bit of a black art and especially tricky with white for some reason.

If it helps I can post up the tempering instructions once I get home (and if the day keeps going as it is, I'll be leaving in 10 mins....its that or I'll kill someone) as I've got a rather handy book on tempering chocolate smile

And use a regular bowl covered in cling film, up turned.

A few years back in America I had a desert which was icecream served in a white chocolate basket.

I wanted to try and make it myself but never realised it would be that difficult!
