Would someone please remind me in future, when parking with a brick wall in-front, it is best to stop before hitting it

Hmmm - popular past time - drove mine into a pillar a while back !

See this thread

It mentions a company called Autofast - I used them too and found them very quick, helpful and cheap !

Just spoke to the Guy at Autofast - a very helpful and friendly chap indeed

- he did mention however that he had not been paid by many of the people that he had sent these indicators to so was no longer operating the 'cheque by return' policy (quite sensibly)

! I cant believe this.. As the person who "found" that Autofast did these and had them added to the PH parts list as the supplier, I'm most dissapointed.. it seems I did them no favours..

Hmmmm...

That is very disappointing. I suggest you get back to him at the end of the week to find out who hasn't paid, and post the list here. I'm sure they've just forgotten and will be gratefull for the reminder.

Edited to add: my cheque went into the post by return, but how stupid am I going to feel if he didn't get it!

I hold my hands up as a late payer. First time I have not paid for something by return. The reason.... no invoice arrived with the indicators.

I assumed it would arrive seperately and waited a couple of weeks. When I didnt hear anything, i rang them up and then sent the cheque to them immediately.

Admittedly - the cheque by return thing was pretty weird - but for goodness sake this is totally out of order. Actually this makes me really cross. Even more cross than the meeting I just had with the morons in our marketing dept (Impressive !).

Must stop speaking now - or will get barred from PH

Unfortunately it's a sign of the times .. retailers don't generally give credit, but customers often take credit .. cash flow can be the killer for a small business, I should know .. I constantly run on a defecit of many thousands of pounds from people who either don't pay or consider it OK to delay payment for several weeks, sometimes months ... this attitude ruins it for the good payers out there .. I'm now considering only letting cars go out if they're paid for on collection.

The other scenario is with parts sent mail order .. often someone will phone up saying they need a part ASAP, so it's sent out next day delivery, what a shame the payment isn't sent back next day delivery in many cases.

I'd just like to publicly say a big big thankyou to all those customers with the good manners to pay promptly for their parts and services .. you're the people who restore my faith in humanity.
BIG THANX!!!!

I reckon that's well out of order, especially considering how friendly and efficient they were when I dealt with them.

I think Peter's suggestion is a good one, and it might help to restore the guy's faith in TVR drivers, if it yields any results.

Well, my new indicators arrived today, but 15 minutes after I had left the house, and the postman didn't leave them outside like normal, so I'll have to call and get them re-delivered - but of course, the depot closes at 2pm now so I will have to call tomorrow, for delivery Friday.!

Hate to say it, but probably a good thing.. I think you are the 1st garage I've used that didn't want paying when I collected the car. Trouble is, I'd bet you end up paying interest on your overdraft while the customers effectively have free credit.

While I think, see my thread about funny smells.. Yet another reason why I really must book the S in for a service..
