mini DVI to HDMI output, which one?

What do people use on their MacBooks?

Apple seem to want me to do it this way:

whats the reason for not doing mini DVI to HDMI straight away and the why do the products listed below work?

I tried to talk with Currys about it and they wanted to relieve me of £80 to do it...

Apple like to be generic, so they sell the miniDVI to DVI for people wanting to connect their laptops to DVI screens, and the DVI to HDMI for people connecting to a TV. Allows you to pick and chose without them having to make too many different cable types.

No reason not to get the miniDVI to HDMI lead though.
