Broadly speaking, how are you finding it?

I need to put in around 5tb of storage but for financial/lifecycle reasons not use our current SAN, and I'm trying to find a way of doing so right now that is cost effective for the immediate need, whilst potentially giving a platform to build on when our main SAN is replaced.

I've seen demo's and read lots of docs so think I have a good understanding of the EQL kit, but I'd like to get a few opinions from people who've used them in production.

Funnily enough I'm out in Milan at the moment setting up a new VMware vSphere cluster using:

2x PS6000XV (~5TB 15k SAS)
1x PS65000 (~24TB 10k SATA)

It's an absolute doddle to setup - literally takes longer to rack + patch it than get it up and running.

Let me know if you got any specific questions.

The company I work for sells it. We also use it, so it must be good.

Yes it certainly looks good from all the papers I've seen and demos etc.

We use Dell for most kit so I have no issues with them regarding honesty etc. but it's a bit of a change coming from the comfort zone I have (base Clariion "dumb" SAN) to a range where the volumes/storage are almost abstracted from each other and even with the baby you can do everything the top model can, all the licenses are included whether you need them right now or not, it's just slower than its bigger brother.

I guess I'm almost trying to figure out if there's a catch?
