HELP with marinating and cooking a turkey!!!
Discussion
hi, having just picked up my turkey, i found out that it hasnt been marinated (which i had specified) so now i am in a dilemma as i have never cooked a turkey before!!
so, does anyone know of any recipies to marinate a turkey?? (no alcohol can be used)
and anyone know how to cook it?
I was hoping to do a tandoori turkey but i dont think thats going to happen, as i cant find a recipe for it!! all i want is a moist and beautiful turkey lol.
PLEASE HELP..

Make an incision in the skin above where the neck used to be and above the breasts, then fill with butter.
Place stuffing into the cavity.
Rub more butter into the skin if desired, wrap breasts and legs in bacon.
Cook on a bed of onions, carrots, potatoes and other veg.
Always worked for me!

I'd rub it with butter (inside and out) as suggested above, roughly chop an onion (or two depending how big it is), place that inside the bird, and then roast it on a rack breast side down to keep the juices in.
Turn it breast side up for the last 30 minutes or so to brown the skin.
'Stuffing' the bird itself (other than with vegetables to give flavour which you'd then discard) is a sure-fire way to get salmonella since it won't reach the temperatures required to cook properly.
