That I want to... is baste the right Word? Anyhow, I have this gooey liquid I want to have on top of my chicken as it cooks.

Except it keeps falling off as it is a liquid! Do I need to keep pouring it back on top or is there a trick I am missing?!

Yes, basting is repeatedly pouring it back over the top. Every twenty minutes should do.

Your alternatives would be to turn the chicken "breasts down" for the first twenty minutes, or marinade it, but it sounds like you've started so not much choice now...

I cut into the Chicken (it's breast not a whole chicken) and have repoured every 8minutes or so but the uptake into the meat is a bit poor.

As strange as this sounds the liquid is Pepsi based. I usually do lemon and sugar with salt and pepper etc which holds in really well.

More pouring I guess?!
