readymix fine filler from b&q works a charm.

top tip: use matt finish paint otherwise you will notice them when you paint over as when sanding you rub down the texture of the previous paint and create a flat spot that reflects the light. its very disheartening when you do this the first time believe me.

but will filler last better than if i just squidge some emulsion in em , then roller over it ?

im pretty sure they will fill with the emulsion..and its hard stuff once its dry ?

no idea sorry. i chose to fill mine as they appeared on one wall after having the whole house freshly plastered.

i guess you can always put another coat on top if it doesn't work first time. i guess a trade quality paint will be nice & thick.

get some fine filler, b&q, focus, wickes etc, them mix it with the paint ur going to paint the wall with( no water) should be ok to fill the gap, just remember to fill them proud, as filler shrinks when its drying, and then u can sand it back nice and smooth!! maybe give it two fills to get it nice and smooth, then just a lick of matt paint and job done!
