How much longer can this go on for
Discussion
This hung parliment does not seem to be working in terms of parties agreeing on policy and reform ect ect.
We can not go on like this for ever so what are the next likely steps?
Queen get involved and for a party for them?
Should we give them all guns and let them have a shootout?
Another election?
or blunder on for the next 5 years?

Think the state opening is next Tuesday, so there has to be a government formed by then. I would have thought if it hasnt been formed by then, then we'll have hit such a huge barrier that another election would be the only solution.
The Queen won't get involved, that would spark all sorts of constitutional issues.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it already (or maybe they have), but if Liarbour are still in power after all of this with a 'double minority', ie they didn't win the most seats and, even with LibDumb support, are still the minority party(ies), doesn't this constitute a serious breach of democracy?
Whats the possibility of a military coup?

Not a breach of democracy because the ONLY democracy in this country is every 5 years when we go to the polls to vote for our local MP. Once that is done the general public's democratic duties/opportunities are complete.Whats the possibility of a military coup?
We might think we live in a democracy, but it's a very constrained, stilted democracy.

What exactly is the problem? No government yet the country is ticking over without problems, maybe we don't actually need them.
Wasn't this the issue in Belgium last year? Many people decided not to bother with government as it was cheaper and less grief Edit - two and a bit years ago - read this and weep! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Belgian_governme...
