Poxy Dell laptop

So suddenly I can't see the DVD drive. Odd.

Check system manager and it's there but reporting a driver problem.

No problem thinks I just reinstall the driver....yeah right!

I can't get it from the dell website. Only thing available is the firmware upgrade which will not run because when it browses windows it can't see the DVD drive.

So anybody got any ideas where I can get a driver for a HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GA31N ATA?

Or is the drive toast?

Huh. Well 3 hours after I started looking for a fix I found this just after I started a topic:
