It seems to drive young males crazy, they become even bigger pricks by adding Coke to the mix than alcohol. I had one arrested in front of my house a couple of years ago and I noticed the way he behaved mirrored by subsequent arrests on Cops with Camaeras etc.
They resist arrest despite it being inevitable that they are outnumbered 6 to 1, they'll bh and complain about being hurt and to let them move an arm or a leg......ceaselessly, they'lie so convincingly till proven wrong then admit it without a bat of an eyelid.
Personally I've seen the damage it does to these young men in the extreme paranoia they exhibit and the utter and complete lack of moral fibre, integrity or honesty, it also seems to lead to violence in their relationships and obsesiveness.

If only you could come along with me to the secure psychiatric hospital where I volunteeer, helping those on the Addiction Treatment Ward.
Then I'll take you along to the weekly evening meeting for relatives of addicts. Listen to their stories and maybe you'll get a better understanding of the problems that this drug presents for some people.
Most seem to be able to control their use. For those who can't, utter and complete devastation for them and those close to them awaits.
I know of quite a few cocaine addicts who were killed by the drug or the consequences of their using.
I know of many, many more families irreperably damaged by this drug.
Cocaine in a large number of cases, not the risk free, consequence free 'bit of fun' that you describe.

Why is that plod still in a job? You've made yourself sound like a moron to me.
I have no idea - why do I sound like a moron for making an observation? I can't help it if someone is snorting coke in a pub toilet when I want to go to the toilet and I can't help noticing when i'm with people that they have white powder in their nostrils, go into toilets together and offer me coke!!i'm pointing out an observation - why am I a moron for noticing it?!!!
It is rather more-ish, so I'm told.
As to why is it illegal? Don't expect any sane or sensible explanation; there simply isn't one. For each legal/illegal drug there is only a history, largely full ofcrap politics and money. Clearly you can gain power and influence by promising to stop one group of people from doing what another group don't want them to do. And no-one expects a politician to keep their promises.

Footballers?
Very few I'd suggest. They are routinely tested for it, and of hand the last Prem player I recall being busted for coke was Mark Bosnich and that must be ten years ago.
But if you've had bad news and want to kick the blues then, cocaine.
Or if your day is done, but you want to ride on, then cocaine

OP, you're hanging about in the wrong circles!
That's what i'm saying, it's not just one circle - so many times people mention it in all walks of life hence me pointing out university (they're supposed to be clever), police officers (supposed to uphold the law), lawyers (supposed to be legit), senior business people (supposed to be looked up to).Edited by poo at Paul's on Sunday 6th June 19:28
That's the point
My uncle works at the Old Bailey and a lot of judges smoke weed etc.

If I started not being friends with people I know do something I dislike then I wouldn't have many friends!

You must think a lot of people are morons if you choose to categorise every person who takes illegal drugs, as well as every person who knows someone that takes drugs as one. I mean sheesh, you must hang out with the Lord Jesus and Mother Theresa when you're at home.

If you sacked all the coppers that indulged in a bit of the recreational pharmacuetical action, we wouldn't have a lot of coppers left.
which is very worrying when we are relying on their judgement in matter of law.Oh, it isnt "everywhere"- you just hang around with the wrong sort of people. None of my friends touch it. Neither me nor my wife have ever touched it. We dont know anyone who does
