New bike - Ducati Monster 695
Discussion
Well to me anyway. My first big bike after passing my test in November and a year buzzing about on my Vespa PX. To say it has a little more shove would be mildy understating it and what a pleasure it is having brakes and suspension that work for you rather than against you!
On Thursday I'm riding from Le Harve to Angouleme for a week at a mate's gite. I've hardly ever driven let alone ridden on the Continent, so I'm hugely excited. I had the bike checked over and given a mild service at a really great independent in Wandsworth and with all the fluids and filters changed and a new chain and sprockets, she feels fighting fit and my mind is a little more at ease for putting a 1000 miles on her.
I haven't enjoyed running tunnels so much since I used to run about in a little Caterham. My God. those Termignonis don't half trump out some beautiful noises eh?! I love the look of the things too as they really make the bike for me. I test rode a Street Triple and a new shape Hornet and while the sound of the triple was quite interesting, the pops, bangs and wonderful deep drone of the V twin (on the overun especially) won it for me. Chuffed to bits to put it mildly
A few more snaps...

Like it & you've already got the Termi's on it, or did it come with them?
The previous owner put them on after a year. According to the service receipts, a none too shabby £615 upgrade with new ECU and air filter. Don't know what the uplift in power/torque is, but they sound like Thor on his vinegar strokes!Wooderson said:

Get the baffles out of those termis!
I think that's the first time I've ever seen them installed in a set of Termi's before, as every self respecting person discards them before even fitting them....
Taking the baffles out will make it a lot louder and will attract the attention of the BiB and possibly make it illegal.
I would leave them in until you are more used to the bike and especially if you are taking it abroad.
The Swiss won't let you in the country with loud exhausts.
AFAICR there isn't much more than a few horses extra with the Termis and if you want quick acceleration change the front sprocket from a 15t to a 14t.
It will make it easier around the lower legal speeds to ride too.

Lovely lovely... Agree about the Termi's, sort the baffles. I didn't know they had them tbh?
I had 45mm Termi's on my old 916 years ago, sounded flippin amazing!
Maybe wait til you get back, something extra to look forward too.
Lovely bike though, enjoy her

Very nice,
I am between Ducati's at the moment. Brought a BMW K1200R as i thought i needed something practical and miss Ducati like mad. The BM does the trick but doesnt set my heart on fire.
Check out Ducatisti, it's a Ducati forum with loads of friendly people to help out with niggles for the marque.
Lot's of regional ride outs too.
Enjoy.

Very nice - I have just the same, minus the termis.
I've been a bit slack with meeting up with other monster owners, but UKMOC meet on the first Saturday of the month in Docklands, and there's a Kent meet near Brands on the second Sunday too. Along with the Italian Cars/Bikes night at the Ace on the 2nd Thursday!
