Gentlemen and ladies,
With regards to this thread: http://mobile.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=...
Can anyone help reunite some people with some lost property by providing registered keeper details or directing them to this website?
Cheers
Dave

You need to contact DVLA. They will not give you the RK's details in this case but

Write an open letter to the RK e.g. I found you camera bag, contact me at .....
Do not seal this in an envelope as DVLA need to see it.

Write a short letter to DVLA explaining what has happened and asking them to forward the letter to the RK.
Enclose a cheque for £5 payable to DVLA.

I'm sure the Police could arrange on your behalf.

I really hope the DVLA would not give out the address - I think not as I had trouble getting keeper info from DVLA for a court case over alledged parking.

But surely, lost/found property is a Police matter and they can easily find the owner with a reg number.

My dad's insurance company did the same thing by looking on the insurance database...

Report property to Plod as found - who knows it may have been reported as lost?

An obliging Plod, rather than clutter his Lost/Found Property Store, could do a OPNC on the VRM, get owners details, phone book for name, ring owner, job solved.

If anyone is interested the DVLA proved useless and the kit is now with the local bobbies (or rather the civilian admin staff).
Thanks for all the advice,
Dave
