Not migrated from a Blackberry to an iPhone as of yet as I'm waiting until there is enough memory on an iPhone to be able to do away with the iPod at the same time as the Blackberry. 2 devices down to one.

My laptop is becoming irritating and is only really used as a social tool, not business but moves around from home to home.

If I were to switch to an iPad, will it opening sync with an iPod and iPhone and does it have sufficient memory to store a typical iTunes library of photos, tracks, films etc?

My current iPod is a 160GB and about half full.

Nope, think of the iPad as just a much bigger version of an iPhone/iPod, it needs syncing just like they do.

Typo edit.

iPad only goes up to 64GB of storage as well - so sounds like your music would not fit either.

Thanks. So you'll still need a PC or MAc to act as 'daddy'?

Doesn't 64gb equal something like 10,000 songs?

Something i've never understood. Never filled a 16gb iphone.....let alone got close to the limits of my 64gb ipad.

Must be getting old!

It's not just music though. It's the video that takes up the space.

Plus, I have to store all the crap for the money sucking parasites who reside under my roof biggrin

makes sense i suppose.

we just have all our music and video on a massive pc hard drive (and backed up to a NAS)

all the kids/wife have their own ipods/iphones and they just dip into the shared library for whatever they feel like dumping on their device. We have 3 iphones, 4 ipods and an ipad that do that so no one ever runs more than 7-10gb on their device (bit more on the pad maybe as films make sense on that...less so on the phones)

Converging devices is a great idea up until they break, and then you lose 2/3/4 devices in one go. I found this out when I sold my tomtom and got tomtom for my old o2 XDA phone. When it broke I forgot I didn't have sat nav right up until I had to leave for a meeting at the other end of the country.
