Sorry if this has been asked before, but the PH Search function is being truly useless!

I'm covered fully comp on my car, and also 'third party level cover on any vehicle not owned by the policy holder'. The words are to that effect, but crucially it says nowhere about whether or not that vehicle needs to be insured by someone else? Me mum's bought a car that's having some work done in a garage, and should be all done by next week, so was wondering even though it isn't insured by anyone, would I be covered for bringing it back?

Insurers are co-op if anyone knows first-hand confused Cheers smile

To be sure, call the Co-op and check with them.

Be aware minimum age limits for driving other cars are becoming increasingly popular.

Ring your insurer they will be able to tell you better than any speculation of what it says in policy documents on here don't mean for it to sound rude or abrupt but its the only way you will really know for sure, In my opinion if you have any doubt about whether your covered or not don't risk it.

smile I'll do that to be safe then. Just wondered if anyone knew for sure whether it's clear cut as it sounds. The amount I'm paying it bloody ought to be but they're an insurance company after all, so it probably isn't rolleyes

All policy Cover restrictions must be clearly stated to be enforceable.

So if it doesn't mentioned having to be otherwise insured then you are most likely covered.

But checking doesn't take long.

Why not get yourself added to her policy, much the safest and probably costs nothing (unless you have a bad driving record)?

You shouldn't consider driving a car whihch has no insurance in its own right.
If the police run an ANPR + insurance check it will come back negative. They will stop you and ask you to step out of the vehicle.
When you step out of the vehicle the car will no longer be insured.
Vaseline comes out.
