Don't panic! but BP causes the world to end in 6 months.

Some loony scientists' article says

Quote from link below
"Doomsday

While some say it can’t happen because the bulk of the methane is frozen into crystalline form, others point out that the underground methane sea is gradually melting from the nearby surging oil that’s estimated to be as hot as 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Most experts in the know, however, agree that if the world-changing event does occur it will happen suddenly and within the next 6 months.

So, if events go against Mankind and the bubble bursts in the coming months, Gregory Ryskin may become one of the most famous people in the world. Of course, he won't have long to enjoy his new found fame because very shortly after the methane eruption civilization will collapse.

Perhaps if humanity is very, very lucky, some may find a way to avoid the mass extinction that follows and carry on the human race.

Perhaps."

Someones ballsed up there big time.

Surely they should be saying this may or may not happen over the next hundred or so years. Sea levels will rise, ice will melt and weather will be extreme. All our children and children's children lives depend on our immediate actions....then Tax us on it.

Oh sorry that tricks already being done isn't it.....scratch that, as you were.

So the nuclear warhead they were thinking of as one of the solutions to stop the leak might not be a great idea?

So, what are the chances that US government will make an apology to certain employees/ ex-employees @ BP for blowing the whole thing out of proportion.

A lot of harsh language came out of the US Gov, but it looking more and more like the guys at BP, and more precisely, Tony Hayward, may have been right all along when they said the impact of the spill would be 'Moderate', as there is hardly any oil left on the surface.

I'm not fussed if they apologise or not, but it is good to see that it hasn't had the impact that some feared.

I too am glad that the environmental impact will not be as bad as first thought.

At times though, it was almost a 'witchhunt'. People were calling for heads to roll, and when BP tried to play down the disaster they had theeirs heads bitten off.

My original question was of course tongue in cheek, as I never expect the US to make an apology, but after the language they were using thee least they could do is acknowledge that BP have done a good job minimising the impact of the disaster.

Given how 'British' BP is, the reaction from some in the US has been laughable. Perhaps CMD took a leaf out of Obama's guide to winning friends this week.
