Weird result with legal insurance

How much do even the lowest rank of lawyers cost? Multiply that by your offer of settlement (from what you say = ?2-3hours for your side alone) and that's your answer - if it's a small amount [a few hundred Euros] it's worth settling in preference to the legal fees - which does no-one any good as in the long term as the price for unbridled litigation / threat of has to be paid by the mass of us punters via our insurance...... car, house, professional indemnity etc. - in my case all three.

My wife's schoolmate in the 80s qualified as a fully-fledged lawyer at the same time as us (we are fairly high-earning but public-sector) - in her first year she earned half as much, but then it doubled every year...to eye-popping sums....
